Flexi Test Prep Efficacy

Overview

  • Four classes (76 students from 7th and 8th grade) used Flexi to prepare for their final.
  • The students took a pre-test and a post-test, five days apart while using Flexi to study.
  • Qualitative data was also collected on attitudes toward Flexi

Purpose

The purpose of this study is to obtain quantitative metrics reflecting Flexi’s efficacy as a study tool. We want to perform an analysis of this data to look for specific connections between Flexi usage and performance.

Methodology

Students took the grade 7 pre-test and grade 8 pre-test, in the form of CK-12 quizzes, on Tuesday, May 28. The tests were designed to reflect the actual final and were based on the curriculum resources. The grade 7 Flexi tutorial and grade 8 Flexi tutorial were delivered on Wednesday, May 29. Students studied with Flexi as homework. Students took the grade 7 post-test and grade 8 post-test, on Monday, June 3th.
